The Game Show Channel should have “Japan Night.” I’d watch it.

The above name is not a joke, but yes, it could be.

I used to be a big Street Fighter fan so I thought that this was pretty cool. Capcom is doing an “HD” remake of SF2 with all redrawn art. It looks really fantastic, check it:

MySpace Phishing

Posted on February 27th, 2007 by Bill Pendry.

If you use MySpace, please read the following…

I’d seen a few spam comments around on MySpace, and also got one on my account from a friend. I saw a link to some information about the rash of hacked accounts on my Home page so I checked it out. There’s some interesting stuff in their worth checking out. The phishers use a look-alike of the MySpace “you must be logged in to do that” login page that is virtually identical to the real thing. You have to check the URL to see that the page is fake, and it would be very easy to be fooled if you weren’t paying attention.

MySpace page about phishing
Check out the example images. It looks like you are looking at the real login page but checking the address shows you that something isn’t right.

One of the commenters makes a very good point:

But the danger doesn’t end there. The person who stole your profile knows that you can always change your password and lock them out of your account. So now, they try to take over your profile entirely. If they see your email address ends in yahoo.com or hotmail.com, they go to your email login page and try to log in to your email account with the same password. Many people use the same password for their email account and their MySpace profile, and if you’re one of those people, now the thief has access to your email, too.

And check this out — once they have access to your email, they can start sending lost password requests to PayPal, AIM, Yahoo Messenger, eBay, or anywhere else you might have an account, and they can now reset your passwords on other systems, and even change the email address on your MySpace profile to their own address so you can never log in again!”

So it’s a really good idea to use a unique password for your email account, something that you don’t use anywhere else.

The Non-Moving Earth & Anti-Evolution Web Page

Biblical Earth

This one is a doozy. I came across a wonderfully tragic website in the context of this article:

Crooks and Liars » GA Lawmaker: “Kabbalists” Behind Evolution

Which lead me to fixedearth.com. An adorable mix of “Bible says so” and cherry-picked and misunderstood scientific data, all culminating in a paranoid haze of conspiracy and coincidence.

The Earth Is Not Moving:

“The world also is stablished that it cannot be moved.”
Psalm 93:1

The Bible and all real evidence confirms that this is precisely what He did, and indeed: The Earth is not rotating…nor is it going around the sun. The universe is not one ten trillionth the size we are told. Today’s cosmology fulfills an anti-Bible religious plan disguised as “science”. The whole scheme from Copernicanism to Big Bangism is a factless lie. Those lies have planted the Truth-killing virus of evolutionism in every aspect of man’s “knowledge” about the Universe, the Earth, and Himself. Take your time. Check it all out. Decide for yourself.

I did check it all out (well… a small portion of it really), and it’s hilarious and disturbing all at once. Some of my favorite sections so far:

LINKS FOR CREATIONISTS – WHAT IF…:

WHAT IF – Kepler’s mother was a witch and he was raised a warlock assigned to bump Brahe off, wreck his work, steal his records, and twist them to promote Copernicanism and help pave the way for evolutionism (which he wrote about 250 years before Darwin)?

The Size and Structure of the Universe:

Star Trails: A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

Falsifying the Geosynchronous Satellite Concept:

So don’t be surprised when the hounds of hell are unleashed to prevent any serious threat to the rotating earth model, whether on this point about satellites or any other. It is a spiritual battle at bottom and it will be settled “one hour” after the GGG (Global Government Gangsters) get their briefcases open (Rev. 17:12, 14)

“Warming up” your car is bad for it.

Honda5-1

Letting your car warm up on cold winter days is bad for it I guess, compared to letting it warm up while you’re driving. Some of the comments after the article get into more detail, like gas getting into your oil and the catalytic converter not being used.

Remote start, kiss my gas – a better way to warm up – Autoblog:

Idling to warm up is murder on the engine. Condensation and acids build up in the oil, and an idling car attains zero miles per gallon. Squandering all that gasoline so you can avoid the five minutes it might take to start getting heat also spews out lots of CO2.

Hitachi Rfid

For those that don’t know, RFID chips store barcode-like information and are scanned wirelessly, like security tags at retail stores. For a quick primer on RFID, look here.

Anyway, Hitachi has shrunk RFID chips down to 0.05mm square. The photo above shows them next to a human hair. They are so small that Hitachi is calling them “powder.” Sort of scary.
